Anne Jacqueline Hathaway is a famous actress born in Brooklyn, New York on November 12,1982. She was raised in Millburn, New Jersey after moving there with her family at age six. She has two brothers, one older and one younger than her.
Her first TV appearance was in a show called "Get Real" (1999). The film that really got her noticed was "The Princess Diaries" (2001) in which she was cast after only one audition. She also starred in the sequel, "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" (2004), "Ella Enchanted" (2004), Cinderella story with a spin broke out of the princess mold with movies like "Brokeback Mountain" and "Havoc", both released in 2005 and "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006), also starring "Meryl Streep".
"The Devil Wears Prada" was an international hit and further secured Hathaway's status in Hollywood. Her next project was 2007's "Becoming Jane" where she took on the role of the famous English writer Jane Austen. Since then she has starred in "Get Smart" (2008), "Rachel Getting Married" (2008) and "Bride Wars" (2009), opposite Kate Hudson. For her role in "Rachel Getting Married", Hathaway received nominations for both the Golden Globe and the Academy Award.
In 2010 she is set to appear in "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", "The Fiance", "The Opposite of Love", "Valentine's Day". Was involved with Raffaello Follieri a real estate developer from Italy, from 2004 to mid 2008. Just before their break-up Follieri was having legal issues concerning tax evasion and soon after was arrested on fraud charges. Hathaway was found to have been unaware of his wrongdoings.
Hathaway is also a talented singer and was a soprano in her high school choir. She supports numerous charities such as "The Step Up Women's Network", "The Creative Coalition" and the "Lollipop Theater Network", among others.
